AIR -64 CSE 2015
Before I started my preparation for civil services, my background research told me that this exam is all about burning the midnight oil. It made me a little nervous. Chance brought me to NIRVANA IAS Academy and I’m thankful for that, because I learned the alternate to hard work is Smart Work. It was under the brilliant guidance of Karam Sir, Wadhwa Sir and Ruby Ma’am, that I owe the success of securing AIR 64 at CSE 2015.
The teaching pattern is interdisciplinary where the focus is on concept and understanding. One actually becomes knowledge hungry which is quite a feat in itself and true beginning of education. Karam sir made learning fun. Interactive classroom sessions helped me more than plain book readings. It was due to Karam Sir that the loosely defined syllabus of UPSC became achievable. This was especially true for the optional subject Law that seems vast. Even as a law graduate I got confused and felt lost with syllabus, but thanks to him it was much stream lined and easy.
I detested history because of my bad memories with the subject during school days. However, it was for Wadhwa Sir, that I fell in love with subject. He engaged us with his lectures and made us think in the “cause and effect” manner, for all that is present has its roots in the past.
Ruby Ma’am as a mentor helped me overcome my fear of math and quantitative aptitude specially when there are so many students with engineering background. She is a patient listener and gives individual attention to everyone to help overcome conceptual problems.
Apart from learning, the focus of Academy is not only helping candidates succeed but to make a better citizen of them. All success is meaningless if we don’t endeavor to become a better human. Also, Karam Sir acts as a great psychological support. At nirvana you feel part of a family. I would definitely recommend it to everyone. You walk in as a student but you step out as a successful and a better individual.
