I joined Nirvana IAS Academy with no prior general knowledge base or know how about civil services exam, but only a deep desire to build a socially contributive career.
Karam Sir and Wadhwa Sir initiated me into this preparation step by step. Both of them are not just teachers, but rather mentors in the truest sense. Wadhwa Sir’s History answer writing sessions from day one gave me an insight into the examination requirements and helped build my confidence. Karam Sir on the other hand, with his encyclopadeic knowledge and impeccable analysis and opinions, helped make learning interesting and valuable.
An examination process as long-drawn and gruelling as this, requires a lot of mental fortitude and persistence. Karam Sir’s close mentoring ensures that one stays on-course with the proper attitude and right efforts, helping each of us optimise our individual strengths and eliminate our errors. He is reachable 24x7, and this sense of belonging and one-on-one mentoring is what I firmly believe helped me reach where I am today. Many a times, closer to the exam, he used to give us hourly targets individually, for us to complete and report back. This helped ensure that we were spending more time in studying than just planning or worrying.
I would also like to mention how as an engineering graduate, having opted for Law as my optional seemed like a huge gamble, but Karam Sir’s expertise in the subject made it one of the easiest part of the whole syllabus.
Also, I would like to state, that sir’s emphasis on raising not just successful, but also capable, worthy and humanistic civil servants enables us to become a much finer version of ourselves, irrespective of the result. In this sense, one truly gets to experience Nirvana and get trained for a better life ahead.
Nirvana IAS Academy is not just another run-of-the-mill UPSC coaching centre. Its a mentoring academy, where individual strengths are honed in a healthy competitive environment. Anybody who is serious about pursuing their civil services dream should definitely meet Karam Sir and consider joining this mighty academy. I shall forever be indebted to it, for it was here that I became the person that I am today.
